When Sara Gilmore was on the plane back home to Los Angeles she looked relaxed and happy. She had been so self-absorbed reminiscing about the trip she had just taken that she hadn´t noticed there was someone looking at her, eager to talk. The passenger sitting right next to her asked whether she lived in L.A. or she was going there on a vacation. “Actually, I’m coming back home from the best vacation ever,” said Sara, who had not talked to someone in ten days, other than the cab rider and the airport staff, and had had the most peaceful time of her life.
“Really? Where did you go to?”
“I went to a tree house in Canada.”
“A tree house? I don’t understand…”
So Sara told her flight-mate about the company custom gift boxes she and her coworkers had received as Christmas bonuses a few months back, and how it had been both the best gift she had ever received as well as the most relaxing vacation she had ever gone to. The company had chosen these personalized boxes as a way to thank their employees for the hard work of the past year, and the effort they had all made staying with the company in the midst of such an unusual and difficult year everybody had to go through. And, she believed, as well as others, it had been the best decision Human Resources had made in years. Sara had already talked to some of her coworkers who had redeemed curated gift boxes they had received from the company before, for birthdays and work anniversaries, and they had all had wonderful experiences to share. However Sara had only just now realized how great the gift to choose was, and she was genuinely grateful with her company for the thought.
After the plane landed, she found herself stuck in traffic on an Uber back home, remembering the great time she had just had in Canada. She took her phone out and searched the email notifying her of the present. She wanted to write a thank you reply to it. The first time she had seen the custom gift boxes with logo subject on her inbox she had not thought much of it. She left the email unread so she could browse through it later. That same night, she had searched the net to find out exactly what the gift meant. When she had typed the words custom boxes with logo near me in her browser she got thousands of hits, including custom packaging boxes with logo and custom gift boxes with logo wholesale, but she focused on going through the opinions of people that had received the boxes before. All of them were good and recommended them. The Uber driver broke her thoughts back to reality and she realized it was really hot in there. He was asking if he could turn the AC on. “Please, do!” she said. She could barely believe she had lived ten days surrounded by nature and peace.
When she got back home, she decided to leave a comment on the HR forum on the company website. To her surprise, there were already hundreds of messages from her coworkers who had also redeemed their custom made gift boxes and had had great experiences. Making sure medical supplies were shipped to hospitals had always been her job, but during the last year, she had felt the pressure build up on her team. Tony, Charlie and the gang had all given their best to make sure clients had all the supplies they needed at such a particular time in history. She picked up the phone and sent a message to the team group chat. She wanted to make sure they knew she appreciated their effort. She then started to write a note to HR. “I just came back from the most amazing vacation in my life, and it was all thanks to the custom gift box bonus. Looking forward to how you surprise us next!.” She saw a heart to her message, and then another, and another. All her team was there, making her feel at home again. “How can I ever repay them?,” she thought. “It’s time to build your own gift box.”
Her phone messages began to buzz. She had a message from Tony, who had been a rock that last year, both to her personally and to her customer service operation. “Your vacation seems awesome. Glad for you,” it read. She decided to send a gift box to him. She wanted to make sure his coworkers knew how much they had meant to her. Even when she had enjoyed her time alone the past days, she had missed their company. They were true friends. It had been Tony’s cheerful personality what had made it easier on all of them those past months and that was not minor those days. She thought it was a great idea to have the opportunity of choosing gift boxes to send to friends. Tony’s birthday that was coming up next month so she purchased a best friend birthday gift box for him. She made sure to include the tree house in Canada vacation option, alongside other things she thought he might enjoy, like dinners and night out events, which they had all missed so much lately. Tony loved going to the theatre before the pandemic. She responded to his text, and the group chat exploded. Everybody was up now.
Maria asked her when she was coming back to work to tell them all about her trip. Charlie wanted pictures so she uploaded a few to the chat. They were mostly nature sightings, birds and flowers. Maria asked what she was doing Sunday, for father’s day, and she realized she had forgotten all about it. She was still in vacation mode. Maria said she was visiting her father and was considering buying a custom gift box for him. So Sara decided to call her father. They talked about her vacation in Canada and he was very excited with the idea to spend some time in the wild. He had always been an outdoor person and was a bit surprised Sara had chosen such a vacation plan, as she had never wanted to go camping with him growing up. “Too many bugs, dad” was her response. Thinking that the last year she had missed going places with him so much made her sad she had not go to those trips as a child. “Why not build your own gift box for him,” she thought. And as soon as they hanged up she picked a personalized gift box for him and included several options for outdoor vacations. She would go with him this time, if he asked.
Sara was convinced that the best people deserved the best gifts and personalised gift boxes were the greatest gift ever. She saw an option below for custom luxury gift boxes and she thought of her mother. She had not been able to see much of her the past year, with the travelling restrictions and all. And even though they were in touch, over the phone, texting and video calling practically every day, she really missed her. So she decided to send her a luxury personalised gift box. Her mother had particular tastes. She had been a woman that travelled a lot in her youth years, and as such, she had refined habits. Sara didn’t always share her tastes, but she did share her eye for the unique, especially when it came to clothing! And Sara had always admired her mother’s shoe collection! And her bags, too. Working from home for a whole year had made all those things redundant though, but she was ready to stock pile on them now that the world was opening up again. She decided to go shopping later, for working clothes and shoes, and she was going to eat out too. An end of holiday treat for herself before diving into work again on Monday.
Designing your own gift box had turned out to be the greatest thing she had discovered the past year. She had gained some insights on life, friendship and camaraderie, sure, but as for something tangible to give people: well the make your own gift boxes discover was at the top. Next time she had to make a present or recognize someone, she wouldn’t doubt it, it was best to build a gift box. Being back had already immersed her in crowds and heat, and work these last few months had really been stressful. The peace and quiet she had recharged with seemed to be fading already. But the memories she had made in the amazing experience she had chosen would never leave her. Now it was time to go back to work. But not without writing that thank you post in the HR page first. She was looking forward to going back to the workplace. Working from home, thought it might had seemed like a dream in the past, had proven to be quite hard for most. No line between life and work, no people to chat with, no breaks. Gosh. If only we could all work from up in the trees!
