Our office has had a pest problem for weeks, so when the exterminators finally came, we were all pretty relieved. Thankfully, we weren't dealing with bugs (ew), but the mice got to the point where it was impossible to work. No matter how much we cleaned, we'd still walk into the office and see, ahem, evidence of mouse activity the night before. The little critters even found their way into the international gift basket delivery we had for our supervisor's retirement party. We were so excited to give him an international gift box delivery with all of his favorite British snacks (he grew up there as a part of a military family), and we were furious to find that our plan to give him his favorite treats from across the pond were spoiled. We weren't just giving him snacks, either—we took ordering international gifts online to the next level. We also got him two international wine gift baskets, and as a vino aficionado, we know he'd be pleased with the care the company put into their selection. We were all looking forward to enjoying a glass or two with him at his retirement party, but given the need for fumigation, we weren't sure if it was going to happen. The fumigators told us that we'd need to stay out of the office for a while while they took care of the problem. Our work doesn't exactly lend itself to going virtual, so we needed to find a space where we could see each other and continue to get our work done. We have tight deadlines, and it was important that our workflow wasn't interrupted while our pesky pest problem was taken care of at our brick-and-mortar office.
Instructions: We relocated to our boss's backyard for a couple of days. None of us had been to his house before, but he always talked about how he had such a big, neat backyard. He wasn't kidding. The yard spanned acres and included a crystal-clear pool with a hot tub attached. The cabana next to the pool had lounge chairs and a restaurant-grade grill. Lounge chairs and fountains were dotted throughout the backyard, making it look more like a high-end lounge than a space behind a house. As we settled into our teams and got our work started, we came back to our international gift ideas for his retirement celebration. We already ordered the snack box and the wine from the international gift store, and we wanted to get some other gifts that ship internationally to help him feel right at home. He mentioned to a few of us that he was thinking about moving back to Great Britain after his retirement. While he hadn't been there in decades, he said that he always felt at home there, and would love to reconnect with the friends he had to leave behind when he moved to the States. He was always looking for the latest international gifts Amazon to decorate his office and help others get into the British spirit.
In addition to the already-comfy spaces available, he even rented additional tents and tables so we could work comfortably. It seemed pretty nice at first. He had lunch catered, and we all enjoyed sandwiches and a giant strawberry shortcake trifle, as well as some snacks from an international gift delivery Japan subscription that our boss received. Honestly, they were the best snacks from an international gift delivery Japan that I've ever tried (and I've tried quite a few). I couldn't believe that online delivery Japan snacks could arrive so fresh and delicious. We chatted about online gift delivery in Japan, and wondered whether we could start a business to send gift to Japan from USA, just like the brilliant Japanese company had done to the U.S. Eventually, we got back to work, studying our spreadsheets and working to meet our ever-looming deadlines. Pretty soon, however, our backyard-makeshift-office paradise started to get weird.
Then we started hearing noises from the woods. As we were wrapping up our conversation about international birthday gift delivery, we started to get a little freaked out. I was just finishing talking about starting a business to send birthday gift to Japan when we heard the first noise. It sounded like a combination of a hoot and a growl—it definitely came from something living, but we couldn't identify the animal. We heard it once more—louder— and then it began to fade into the distance. We tried to return to our conversation about how to send birthday gifts to USA from other countries, but we couldn't shake how nervous the sounds made us. A few of the people on my team were ready to head home, but we still had to hit our deadline. We kept chatting about our potential business idea, including how to send gifts to USA from Philippines, and we put our heads down and got back to work.
Instructions: Around mid-afternoon, we realized one person hadn't been seen in hours. We decided to split up and look for her. We made small talk about international gift delivery UK for our supervisor while reassuring one another that our coworker had to be just around the next corner. Our conversation about international wine delivery UK and snack gift baskets UK paused as one person in our search party suggested we reach out to our boss, as we realized we hadn't let him know that we were heading into the woods to look for our missing coworker. He didn't answer his phone, so we texted him and let him know where we were, then returned to our conversation about international gift baskets UK.
The boss was mysteriously absent too, but we figured he had just decided to work inside his own house. We talked about whether he was inside enjoying some of his latest international gift delivery USA snack box. A few members of our group went back to look for him, and we overheard them chatting about gifts to USA same day delivery, maybe for his retirement party. Our group's conversation returned to online gift delivery in USA, and we chatted about whether international gift baskets Australia would be a good fit for our next office party. We tried to keep the mood light, but things turned somber fast as night began to fall. We realized that if we didn't find our coworker fast, she might be out here overnight—or longer. Just as we began to discuss the possibility of her sleeping in the woods overnight, we started to hear the sound again. The strange hoot-and-growl hybrid that freaked us out so badly before was back again. We stood, frozen, debating what to do next. A few members of our group said that they'd had enough and were going to head back to see if she returned to the backyard on her own. The rest of us said that if that were the case, surely someone would have called or texted already. We split up, and just three of us remained, still looking in the woods for our coworker. We kept hearing the noise—sometimes it sounded close, sometimes it was far, but we were never able to figure out exactly where it was coming from.
It was long past 5 PM, and it was getting dark, and we still hadn't found her. We realized that it was probably time to call in the professionals, so we continued our conversation about the best international gift delivery as we made our way back to try and lighten the mood. We read some online gift basket overseas review on our phones as we walked to meet the police. They interviewed each of us to get more information on what had preceded our coworker's disappearance. We tried to keep our spirits up by talking about online surprise gift delivery and whether we were going to go with international gift delivery Austalia for our supervisor's retirement party, but there was no way to stay in high spirits after what had gone down that day. Our coworker has yet to be found—and more than 48 hours have passed. We've resigned ourselves to working in a coffee shop for now. While it's not the backyard paradise we enjoyed before, it's nice to be able to rest assured that whatever made that horrible noise can't claim another one of our coworkers.
