Wilmington roots mean laid-back beach bums, yet they have a passion for creating food and drink that's both delicious and healthy.
The three founders met at UNC Wilmington where Rocco and Wells ran track. Wells and Kelly met soon after and they're instant soul mates. They kept busy since college but were reunited by the idea to open Tama Cafe which was local-coffee-shop in spirit but with a tea-focused menu. Spending time in their cafe meant they were always balancing their need for caffeine with hydration. Drinking tea and sparkling water back-to-back led to a crazy idea - sparkling tea!
They did just that, craft brewing organic green tea with real fruit and herbs like fresh lavender petals and mango chunks. They initially made this product that they are proud of for themselves and close friends and are stoked to share it with you.
Tama Tea is an alternative to the mundane, focusing on diverse flavorful tastes from a myriad of teas. They serve specialty drinks handcrafted by their trained tea tenders, and offer premium quality loose-leaf teas sourced from all over the world, offering what they call healthy “Lite-Bites,” all in their inviting atmosphere. At Tama Cafe, they are truly revolutionizing the tea experience.
Tama Tea is not only about healthy and delicious food and drinks, but they also help preserve their pristine nature and educate young kids on why it's so important to take care of the oceans. As a result, they've partnered with Masonboro.org
1 cent from every can sold of their sparking tea is donated directly to Masonboro.org With the help of volunteers, their mission is to protect public access, promote responsible use and preserve the traditions of Masonboro Island.
Enjoy their delicious drink and at the same time help mother nature!
