What started out as Amanda’s occasional dessert special has already grown into more than they could have ever imagined. Let's go back to when Amanda attended the Culinary Institute of America. Posting her desserts on Instagram and Facebook from her very first class, Amanda showed improvement with every picture. Eventually, something came along that few even knew what it was, but that it sure looked tasty… The French macaron.

After graduating and working at Fenway Park with the Boston Red Sox, in Maine, and then moving back home to the Hudson Valley, somewhere in between Chef Amanda perfected the art of the fickle French macaron.

One day, however, after a particularly delicious dessert special of Italian Rainbow Cookie macaron flavor, there somehow happened to be a few left over. Amanda brought me (Vin) one to try after work (as she often did with many of her desserts, bless her soul.) To be honest he had never had one before that moment, but the combination of flavor and texture was unlike anything he had experienced. he thought, “How can this macaron taste just like the Italian rainbow cookie I've loved my whole life… and maybe better?!”

Fast forward to today, they've combined fresh ideas, endless research, crazy hours, innovative flavors, and creativity that pushes the envelope to continuously evolve and grow Amanda’s Macaron Shoppe. 

They started in 2019 with just a couple flavors and a Google Form to place an order. On August 14th, 2020, they opened their very own storefront location in Poughkeepsie, New York at Eastdale Village, an up and coming live/work/play community. The local community was overwhelmingly supportive, and grand opening weekend saw close to 5,000 macarons go out the door. Safe to say very little sleep was had, but it was all worth it to see their hard work become a reality. 

Though they can't believe how far they've come, they have just begun. And though their team has grown to many more than just Amanda & Vin, they will always treat their customers as if they were their first filling out that Google Form, no matter if you stop by the shop or order online!
