Grit Coffee began its journey in 2008 near the University of Virginia with a simple vision: to source and roast exceptional coffee while fostering a deep connection with the local community. From that small beginning, Grit Coffee has grown into one of Virginia’s most recognized independent coffee producers, driven by a commitment to crafting high-quality coffee under the Grit Coffee and Snowing In Space brands. The retail operation has steadily expanded to include nine Grit Coffee shops throughout the state.

A range of carefully sourced coffees is offered, sourced from dedicated farmers around the globe and supported through relationships that ensure each cup reflects the quality and passion of these partners. The talented roasting team, based in Charlottesville, Virginia, meticulously roasts each batch to bring out the distinct flavors and qualities of every coffee, offering packaged whole bean products under both the Grit Coffee Roasting Co. and Snowing In Space brands.
