Sending Gifts To International Employees

Okay, so I know everyone has a unique workplace story. Some are good, some are bad, but this one is absolutely absurd. Have you ever seen ants in your workplace? I'm sure you have seen insects from time to time but they are nothing like this! We have had a pest problem for weeks, bordering on months. Some of the pests that I have spotted in my workplace I literally have never seen anywhere else! I was there taking a look at gift ideas for employees on a budget, trying to find personalized gifts for employees. Then, all of a sudden, as I am looking at Christmas gifts for employees, I see this giant, gross cockroach literally walking right across my desk at work.

I was not able to maintain my focus on sending gifts to international employees. I knew that something had to be done. At the same time, how often does your boss actually listen to you? Therefore, I knew I had to have some photographic evidence. I took out my phone, took a picture of the giant monster that was trying to invade my office space, and decided to share it with the rest of the office. Fortunately, my coworkers got the idea, and they started taking pictures of the ridiculous things they were seeing as well.

Eventually, we had all of the information we needed to force our company to do something. Because we had been dealing with these infestations for so long, we were extremely relieved to see the fumigators finally arrived. Sure, this meant that we would have to relocate for a little while, but we were all very tired of dealing with the pests that were invading our workspace. We were still in a state of shock at how this could possibly have happened in our office, but we were still happy that something was being done.

Because of the situation in our office, we had to relocate somewhere else for a few days. It turns out that we were being relocated to the backyard of our boss’s house. As I'm looking at gifts for international employees, I realized that none of us had ever been to his house before. Even though we were a bit nervous about working on our boss's private property, we had heard that he had a very big backyard. Fortunately, when the fumigators arrived, we were given the rest of the day off. Therefore, it's not like we had to go directly from the office to an unfamiliar workspace. We would have a day to decompress, digest what had happened, and get ready for a new work environment. Sure, it's going to be a bit weird to be out of the office, but we felt a bit excited that we would be working outside for a while. As long as the weather cooperates, it should be a good experience.

When we arrived at his house for the first time, it was obvious that he was prepared for us. He had rented a tent and multiple tables so that we could all work comfortably. That way, if it started to rain, we would be sheltered from the precipitation. We also didn't have to worry about the sun beating down on us throughout the entire day. Even though it was a bit of an odd setup, we appreciate that our boss went the extra mile.

Then, I was able to continue my search. I was looking at international gifts online, trying to find gifts that ship internationally. I wasn't really sure what was going on, but the first thing I thought was that maybe the boss has some pets that live outside. Before we decided to just stop working, we decided that it was important to let the boss know what was going on. We figured that he would probably be concerned that someone had gotten lost on his property; however, he was mysteriously absent too. We were very worried that something bad might have happened to her.

Okay, so at this point, the sun is starting to set. It's after 5 p.m., it's the middle of winter, and it's getting dark. We still haven't found her yet, and we are very concerned. As I'm getting out my phone to call the authorities, someone says that they have found her. I feel extremely relieved that we didn't lose one of our co-workers in the backyard of our boss’s massive house. She told us that she had got a bit lost as she was looking for something she left behind, but we told her that she had been gone for a very long time. She sounded like she was trying to evade answering the question, and we decided that it wasn't important enough to dive deeper. Furthermore, the entire experience clearly meant that we were supposed to get back to the office as soon as possible. Even though I'm a bit nervous about entering my workspace, I'll be happy when I don't have to worry about getting lost on my way back from the bathroom.
