With AEDIT launching in 2016 and quickly growing after releasing their new augmented reality app for aesthetic enhancement in 2018, the company was seeking out ways to stand out with new hires and fill the void of in-office perks for staff working from home.

As a long-time client of STADIUM, the switch to SnackMagic was seamless for AEDIT and provided an alternative way to reach employees now working remotely.

The SnackMagic experience quickly integrated into the culture of the AEDIT staff and the product has become something they look forward to.

How It Began

AEDIT is an innovative health tech company with a mission to embrace the cutting edge future of beauty. With the creation of an app in 2018 that allows you to see your potential surgery outcome in augmented reality, AEDIT is posed for growth. “We help educate people on different procedures and guide them in finding the right procedure and board-certified Provider for their particular concern,” said AEDIT’s HR Generalist, Pia Mulligan. As a consumer-focused platform for the aesthetic enhancement space, they have the best of the best on their team to curate a non-judgmental space for trusted, unbiased information on plastic surgery and other aesthetic treatments. Like most industries, AEDIT employees faced a significant shift in their workflow as they began working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After a few isolating months, AEDIT made the choice to bring on SnackMagic as the perfect solution for showing their team some motivation and appreciation.

Why SnackMagic?

AEDIT has been a long-time client of SnackMagic from when it was Stadium. Before transitioning to SnackMagic, Stadium was a platform for ordering customizable meal services from a variety of restaurants delivered prepackaged. After realizing 70% of orders had added snacks from our list of snack vendors, sending snack boxes to people remotely seemed like the obvious pivot during the pandemic.  “Everyone moved to work from home, and it was just a really easy, seamless transition from Stadium to SnackMagic,” said Pia. “We would get free lunch twice a week, and then we switched out and it just made sense to fill the void of that benefit we were not getting from being in the office.”

Shipping gifts to employees in a timely manner is always the top priority for any organizer during these remote times on top of getting the gifts to the correct addresses. Each SnackMagic box takes 2-6 days to get to its destination, which eliminates the need to worry about gathering physical addresses because the recipient can directly type in their desired address after customizing their box. “When everybody is working from home, the fact that you guys deliver straight to your door is incredible–quickly as well, I think I got mine in two days.”

With the use of our Treats Dashboard, organizers have a full scope of the status of each gift in live time. There, the administrator can see who redeemed their gifts and Thank You notes from staff and itemized receipts. Before SnackMagic and Stadium, taking orders for AEDIT employee perks “was a very manual and long process,” explained Pia, “It took an hour getting everybody’s orders in and then going ahead and actually putting them in the basket and then paying for it. It wasn’t efficient at all!” Furthermore, the SnackMagic menu features a wide selection of different products to choose from, so staff is able to pick exactly what they’d like without a middleman. “There’s something for everybody, so nobody’s gonna go in and be like, ‘Oh, I can’t get anything from here anyway.’ Literally, everyone will be satisfied with the products.”

Conjoining Forces

With their first order in May 2020, AEDIT quickly hopped onto the SnackMagic platform as a simple way to get their staff motivated. “We had just transitioned to work from home, so I think everybody was a little bit disengaged and really trying to figure out their schedules and just getting used to not being in the office with everybody,” said Pia, “So that was a tool that we used to get everyone to pack up a little bit and get back into the swing of things.” Keeping their staff motivated and connected is a challenge that a lot of companies face during this time, but after treating their staff of 28, SnackMagic quickly became embedded into their employee culture.

“We’ve had a lot of comments from people just saying, ‘This is amazing, I’m looking forward to it, and people are actually commenting what their favorite snacks were in our ‘cooking’ Slack channel as well, so that’s really fun.’’

Outcome of Partnership

After using SnackMagic for just 3 months, the AEDIT team has created a Slack channel specifically for talking about all things food and cooking, where SnackMagic is a frequent topic. “We’ve had a lot of comments from people just saying, ‘This is amazing, I’m looking forward to it,’’ explained Pia, “and people are actually commenting what their favorite snacks were in our ‘cooking’ Slack channel as well, so that’s really fun.” The process for using SnackMagic drives excitement for the staff because it’s simple and personal.

From staff picking exactly what they want in their box, to the user-friendly Treats Dashboard on Pia’s end, sending gifts to their employees continues to be hassle-free, which is the most memorable part of the experience for AEDIT. “I think how easy it is to use is really really important. It takes less than 10 minutes to set up, 15 minutes to go through and pick what you want,” said Pia. “The user experience is fantastic…it’s cute, it’s really fun. And it’s just a nice thing to do to take a break from your work; go through and pick some snacks that you can eat in a couple of days and relax.”  SnackMagic has since become a frequent vendor for AEDIT’s employee perks, using the product for every new hire since their initial order.

As more HR administrators continue to seek out alternative options for perks in this alternative world where employees are now all at home, SnackMagic serves as an obvious solution for making staff feel close and connected. “People just love it, they love that little pick me up, and I think it’s fun to talk about as well,” said Pia. “When we had Stadium, we would all have lunch together in the office and just chat, but now we get to have our Slack channel where we can talk about our snacks, so it’s another way that we can actually connect on a more social level, which is really fun and we  have to find things like that to do right now when everybody is so isolated.” Moreover, AEDIT seeks to grow their staff in the coming months and SnackMagic will be the go-to option for new hire gifts. “We’re actually in a bit of a hiring spree, so in the next two to three months, we’re probably going to hire about six more people, which is really exciting,” explained Pia.

SnackMagic is a perfect solution for HR Administrators like Pia seeking hassle-free, memorable employee perks programs. The experience of using the product is at the centre of customization and control for both staff members and administrators. With SnackMagic, AEDIT continues to make their employee perks a memorable experience.
